A camouflage fabric is made of synthetic fiber, e.g. polyester, optionally blended with cellulosic fibers, e.g. cotton. The synthetic component is melt-dyed with a masterbatch, e.g. in gray, green or olive tones, so that the infra-red reflection properties are similar to those of chlorophyll. The camouflage pattern is applied to the blend by printing, e.g. in black, brown, olive or green tones, using vat or sulfur dyes. |
