PURPOSE: A data communication method for a portable PDA is provided to enable the services of data download/upload, data search, mail transmission and product purchase as well as its settlement by using an existing communication network such as a public telephone, an attended banking terminals(integrated services), a card charger or by installing an additional super high speed network such as ADSL or VDSL to the existing communication devices above. CONSTITUTION: An actual communication work such as the data transceiving, data search, electronic commerce, electronic mail can be done by using a portable PDA which can access an existing communication device such as a public telephone, a card charger and an unattended(banking) data assistant terminal or the peripheral equipment environment(communication network). Through the Internet access using the calling function of public telephone, the desired contents can be downloaded or uploaded, thus enabling a two-way communication of a portable PDA. By using the charging function of the public telephone, the settlements of a credit card and an account transfer can be done for obtaining contents or purchasing product from the Internet. By using the communication line of an unattended banking terminal or additionally installing a telephone line onto it, an electronic commerce is enabled.
