The invention relates to a driver information device (2) of a motor vehicle (1) in which various operational data is firstly detected by means of sensors (3, 4, 5, 6) and is fed to a control unit (7). While taking the present operational state into consideration, said control unit compiles a rule of precedence of the operational data that is relevant and useful to the driver under the current operational conditions. By using an output unit (8), which can contain both an acoustic signal output (10) as well as a display (11), the driver is thus provided, according to need, with information without overburdening the driver with the large amount of detected operational data and leading to a delayed decision or to an unnecessary distraction from traffic events. |
