PURPOSE: A hint offering method for a password in a digital TV is provided to improve convenience by offering a hint for the password when the user has forgotten the password in a digital TV system with a lock mode. CONSTITUTION: When a user determines a password for a digital TV system, a hint input that can remind of the password like "father's birthday" or "friend's phone number" is input together with the password. If is detected if an entrance to a setup mode is requested by the user to turn on a lock mode of a broadcasting program. If an entrance to the setup mode is requested, a message requesting for the password and the hint are displayed. |
