1526366 Wall plugs A GERHARD 16 Sept 1976 [20 Sept 1975] 38351/76 Heading F2H An expansible wall plug 1 of conical form comprises two longitudinally separate halves held together by means which can be overcome when the plug is expanded by a cylindrical screw, with spaced circumferential ribs 3 of sharp-edged cross-section, the ribs 3 all having the same overall diameter as the maximum plug diameter 7. The spacing between successive ribs 3 is not constant. The wall thickness of the plug is substantially constant and the interior surface may have a raised thread 4 for engagement by the screw. As shown, the plug halves each have a semi-cylindrical extension 5 at the rear end, a ring 6 encircling the extensions 5 to hold together the two halves. Alternatively the halves may have full-length overlapping resilient flanges. |
