PURPOSE: A quintuple-stage manual transmission is provided to reduce the total length of the transmission, and reduce noise by minimizing the number of gears rotating in idle state. CONSTITUTION: A quintuple-stage manual transmission includes an input shaft(50) mounting a direct connection input gear(54) connected directly with the shaft, first, second, third input gears(51,53,55) connected with the shaft via a plurality of synchronizers(52,56); a middle shaft(60) mounting a direct connection middle gear(64) connected directly with the shaft for being engaged with the direct connection input gear, first and second middle gears(61,63,64) connected directly with the shaft via a plurality of synchronizers(62,65) simultaneously with being engaged with the first and second input gears, and a backward middle gear(66) connected directly with the shaft via a synchronizer; and an output shaft(70) mounting first, second, and third following gears(72,73,74) engaged with the first, second, and third input gears, a backward following gear(75) engaged with the backward middle gear, and an output gear(71) transmitting speed-changed power to a car wheel, wherein the first, second, and third following gears, the backward following gear, and the output gears are connected directly with the shaft.
