PURPOSE: A device for reducing engine rpm is provided to lengthen the life of an engine and to prevent the breakage of the engine by starting or stopping the engine after reducing the RPM of the engine rpm to an initial level. CONSTITUTION: An engine rpm reducing device comprises a pressure switch(12) installed in a remote controller(9), a first relay(13) operated by the pressure switch, first relay contact points(15a,15b) interlocked with the first relay and individually connected to an engine starting unit and a second relay(14), second relay contact points(16a,16b) individually connected to a fuel opening and shutting-off motor(4) and the second relay, and a third relay contact point interlocking with the second relay and controlling a pneumatic valve(6). When an engine is started or stopped with the rpm higher than an initial level, the engine rpm is reduced to the initial level. Therefore, the shortening of the life or breakage of the engine due to sudden deceleration or acceleration with high engine rpm is prevented.
