PURPOSE: A server and client socket communication method is provided to maximize the resource utility of an intelligent SMS(Service Management System) by simultaneously performing functions of a server and a client in one process. CONSTITUTION: If an event is generated from a client(S1), it is discriminated whether a connection is requested by the client(S4). If the connection is not requested by the client, client packet reading is performed(S5). If the connection is requested by the client, the connection of the client is permitted(S6) and an event monitoring table is added(S7). It is discriminated whether the packet reading succeeds(S8). If the packet reading succeeds, it is discriminated whether the client is connected with a current server(S11). If the client is connected with the current server, a packet is transmitted to the server(S12). If the client is not connected with the current server, the connection is attempted to the server(S13) and the event monitoring table is added(S14). If an event is generated from the server(S2), server packet reading is performed(S3). It is discriminated whether the packet reading succeeds(S15). If the packet reading does not succeed, the packet is deleted from the event monitoring table(S16). If the packet reading succeeds, a necessary work is processed(S17) and the packet is transmitted to the client(S18).
