PURPOSE: A method for detecting reproduced terminals is provided to detect an illegally reproduced mobile terminal through the comparison and analysis of location registration information in case that mobile terminals having an identical MIN(Mobile Identification Number) and an identical ESN(Electronic Serial Number) execute location registration at different service zones. CONSTITUTION: If a mobile terminal located at an arbitrary service area requests location registration to an MSC/VLR managing the service area(S101), the VLR transmits the information of the mobile terminal to an HLR in which every information for the mobile terminal is set up(S102). The HLR requests the VLR to cancel location registration for the mobile terminal(S103). After receiving a response for location registration cancellation and final location registration information for the mobile terminal from the VLR(S104), the HLR transmits final location registration information for the mobile terminal to the VLR with a response message for location registration(S105). The VLR compares final location registration information with new location registration information executed currently(S106) and judges whether the currently executed location registration is a location registration by movement from an adjacent service area or a location registration by a return to a power-on state from a power-off state(S108). In case that information for the currently location-registered mobile terminal is not the location registration by movement from an adjacent service area or the location registration by the power return, the VLR judges whether the mobile terminal is set up as abnormal location registration information(S110).
