PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for advantageously producing an intermediate described in the international application publication no. 97/41,113 and 99/21,851 in a high yield. SOLUTION: This triazole compound is represented by formula (1) [R1 and R2 are each independently a 1-4C alkyl or the like; and Y is H, a halogen or the like]. The method for producing a sulfonyl chloride derivative of formula (6) is characterized in that a compound of formula (2) or formula (3) is oxidized with chlorine. In the method for producing the sulfonyl chloride derivative, the method uses the compound of formula (3) produced by reducing the compound of formula (2). In the method for producing the sulfonyl chloride derivative, the method uses the compound of formula (2) produced by reacting a disulfide derivative of formula (4) with a sulfamoyl halide derivative of formula (5) [R1 and R2 are each as shown above; and X is a halogen atom].
