PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for industrial art which has transparency and ductility, is strong and light in weight, hardly allows fingerprints to be trans ferred and has little shrinkage, and a method for manufacturing the material for industrial art. SOLUTION: The material for industrial art is prepared by mixing dogtooth violet starch, hard flour and corn starch and further preferably by mixing dogtooth violet starch at a ratio of 33 to 41 wt.%, hard flour at a ratio of 9 to 15 wt.%, corn starch at 3.5 to 7.0 wt.%, and further a vinyl acetate emulsion at 37 to 45 wt.%, cold cream at 4.0 to 7.5 wt.%, and an antiseptic at 0.2 to 1.0 wt.%.
