PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality belt type low-cost electrophotographic photoreceptor which does not generate an interference fringe pattern on an image even when used in an electrophotographic device using long-wavelength monochromatic coherent light as light for exposure, and which undergoes a slight characteristic change even under a considerable change of the ambient temperature and humidity and ensures stable image quality, also to provide a substrate for such a superior electrophotographic photoreceptor and a method for producing the substrate. SOLUTION: The output surface of an electroformed nickel tube of 30-100μm thickness is roughened to 0.3-2μm ten-point average roughness RZ by dry blasting with alumina or zirconia particles of 5-50μm average particle diameter to obtain the objective substrate, and the objective electrophotographic photoreceptor is produced using he substrate.
