PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stable control by preventing the fluctuation of torque and current and out-of-step when a load changes rapidly. SOLUTION: The control device controls the terminal voltage of a permanent magnet type synchronous motor to match an armature current to its command value and to match the frequency of the armature current to its command value. A frequency command value given to a power converter is corrected by either or both of the amount of frequency correction being generated by a voltage component in parallel with a current command value vector out of voltage command values being generated based on a current command value, or the amount of frequency correction being generated by a voltage component that orthogonally crosses the current command value vector.
