PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconfigure an X-ray tomographic image in high precision so that a helical scan utilizing a multi-sliced X-ray CT system can be achieved. SOLUTION: An X-ray detector is composed of two rows of X-ray detection arrays A, B. The X-ray irradiation angle of an X-ray tube isπ/3. In this configuration, when a computerized tomographic image of a subject's heart is obtained by helical scanning, the time required for a gantry to rotate 2/3 rounds is matched to one heartbeat period. The rotation speed of the gantry and the conveying speed of a table, on which the subject is placed, are controlled so that the subject is moved as far as the width of the X-ray detection array in the Z-axis direction during its 2/3-round rotation. The computerized tomographic image is reconfigured by using signals obtained by the X-ray detection arrays A, B each sharingπ/3 of the rotation period with a time lag of one heartbeat.
