PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric conversion element, that is of a configuration where the thermoelectric conversion efficiency of an Si-group material, that is an inexpensive and light thermoelectric conversion material has been much improved and at the same time, uses an Si-group thermoelectric conversion material in a configuration that can be manufactured easily, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: N-type and p-type material powder is arranged alternately, is subjected to compression molding to p/n/p/n/p/ for sintering in one piece, thus reducing losses due to electrode junction to almost zero. Also, by joining the powder to a p-n junction part, that is located at high-temperature and low- temperature sides when temperature gradient is given to the thermoelectric conversion element via heterogeneous metal for forming elements, electromotive force and electrical energy are improved.
