PURPOSE: A heat exchanger and method for manufacturing the same is provided to minimize reject ratio and allow the heat exchanger to be assembled in a stable and accurate manner. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger comprises a tube(13) having a hollow portion serving as a heat exchanger medium passage; a first header(19a) and a second header(19b) having an insertion slot(29) for insertion of both ends of the tube; supports(17a,17b) for supporting the first header and the second header, respectively; and a coupling unit for coupling first and second headers to supports. The coupling unit includes a guide member(17a') protruded from each of supports, and header taps(19a',19b') which are arranged at the first and second headers, respectively, with the guide member disposed between header taps. A method comprises the steps of arranging two header taps at left and right sides of the header, and the guide member at the support; inserting a radiation fin(15) between tubes through which heat exchange medium passes, and mounting the support to the header tap in a manner as to support the guide member; assembling first and second headers with upper and lower tanks(21a,21b), respectively; and braze welding the resultant structure where the support is accurately fixed to the header.
