PURPOSE: A polyester single yarn and a non-woven fabric for preparing a non-woven fabric of shoes are provided which have softness like a nylon, stabilized transient change and hardening phase, excellent carding property and needle punching property when the non-woven fabric is prepared. CONSTITUTION: Polyester is material of the polyester single yarn. The polyester single yarn is characterized by 1.6-1.8denier of fineness, 4.0-5.0g/de. of strength, 60-80% of elongation, 300-400kg/mm¬2 of Young's modulus, 5-15% of dry-heat shrinking percentage, 0.15-0.30 of oil pick up(OPU), 12-17numbers/in. of crimp number(CN) and 12-15% of crimp degree(CD). Main ingredients of the polyester are terephthalic acid or an ester derivative thereof and ethylene glycol. The polyester is obtained by adding 6-8wt.% of polyethylene glycol having 600-1500 of molecular weight and 10-12wt.% of neo-pentyl glycol as an inhibitor of transient change and hardening based on terephthalic acid, and then condensation-polymerizing. The polyester has 0.65-0.72dl/g of inherent viscosity.
