PURPOSE: A data recording method of optical recorder/reproducer is provided to reduce seek time of servo and to shorten data recording time by executing data recording if volume of data stored is over a designated volume after encoding and storing data block at a buffer. CONSTITUTION: A data recording command is received from a host(301). A data to be recorded at an appropriate user area block is encoded analyzing recording command received(302). A data of ECC(Error Correction Code) block unit which is encoded at (302) stage is stored at the buffer(303). It is judged as to whether a number of ECC block stored at the buffer is larger than a number of a designated ECC block which is set up(304). A data of ECC block which is stored at the buffer is recorded in case that as result of judgement of (304) stage, a number of ECC block which is stored at the buffer is same as or larger than N, a number of ECC block which is set up(305).
