PIP SIGNAL CONVERTING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A PIP(picture in picture) signal converting device and a method thereof are provided to improve PIP moving picture by matching the field number of the PIP image signal with that of the main image signal. CONSTITUTION: A main image signal forming a main screen and a PIP image signal forming a sub screen are received(610). The field number of the main image signal and that of the PIP image signal are compared referring to the broadcasting mode of the input image signal(620). If the field numbers of the main image signal and the PIP image signal do not coincide, a determined field of the PIP image signal is repeated and other fields are combined until their number becomes identical to that of the main image signal(650,660).
