PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing impurities is provided which prevents danger of safety accidents by being exposed to radiant heat, high heat, gas or dust surrounding the sprash cover, or increase of working load at the same area when removing adhered molten materials of impurities such as slag and hot metal stuck to the tapping hole and the surrounding thereof so as to close the tapping hole. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus for removing foreign substances stuck on the surface of a tapping hole (1) of a blast furnace, the apparatus comprises a supporting body supporting one or more multi-joint robot arms (10a,10b) to one end of which hooks (9a,9b) are adhered; a transferring means reciprocatingly transferring the supporting body between the operating position of the upper part of the tapping hole and the atmospheric position distanced from the tapping hole; and a control means remotely controlling the multi-joint robot arms (10a,10b) so that the hooks (9a,9b) can remove foreign substances (2) stuck to the surface of the tapping hole (1) while the supporting body is at the operating position.
