PURPOSE: Provided is a process for preparing activated carbon from unreacted activated carbon produced in the process for manufacture of CO, H2, CO+H2 gas and unreacted carbon produced when petroleum chemical serious fuels burn. Whereby, the obtained activated carbon is useful for treatment of wastewater and agriculture. CONSTITUTION: Activated carbon generated as by-products in the manufacture of CO+H2 using bunker-C oil for producing octanol, activated carbon generated as by-products in the manufacture of CO, H2, CO+H2 gas using bunker-C oil or crude oil and unreacted carbon generated as by-products when petroleum chemical serious fuels such as bunker-C oil burn are a main material and diatomite, white clay, bentonite, zeolite, incinerated ash and anthracite ash are a subsidiary material. The above main material and subsidiary material are grinded in the first stage, sintered at 180 to 250deg.C, grinded in the second stage and filtered to produce the title compound.
