PURPOSE: To provide a back light unit which is excellent in productivity and reliability. CONSTITUTION: A back light unit of a liquid crystal display device has a light guide plate whose form is almost rectangular, a tubular light source 42 which is placed opposite to the side end of the light guide plate, and a frame supporting the light guide plate and the tubular light source. Connection cables 44 are connected to both ends of the tubular light source. Holders 45a, 45b of rubber are arranged in the connection part between each end of the tubular light source and the connection cable. Each holder includes a main body 46 having an insertion-coupling hole 50 through which an end of the tubular light source is inserted, and an extended part 48 which is extended from the main body, through which an end of the connection cable is inserted, and in which the end of the connection cable is covered directly in an assembly.
