PURPOSE: To provide a graphical user interface improved in operability when setting the destination of electronic mail. CONSTITUTION: In the client/server system, a server is provided with an icon transfer part for transferring a received icon to another client and a picture preparing part for preparing a message board picture and the client is provided with an icon preparing part for sending a transmitting icon and a picture preparing part for preparing a message board picture while receiving the received icon and the icon prepared by the icon preparing part. When an icon is newly prepared, this is displayed on the present message board picture and transmitted to the server. The server displays the icon on the message board picture and transfers it to the other client while using a differential message transmitting system.
