[Also in Divisions Bl and B2] A method of blending a liquid sterilising agent with a perishable liquid, e.g. beer, fruit juices, soft drinks comprises subjecting liquid sterilising agent in tank 7 to the pressure of an inert gas so that it flows via line 3 to an injector unit 4 injecting the sterilising agent in an atomised form into the perishable liquid, and mechanically agitating the resulting mixture in a blender 5. The liquid sterilising agent may be diethyl pyrocarbonate or mixed anhydrides disclosed in Specifications 1,200,210 and 1,205,146.</p> |
