PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which forms images with excellent printing quality without upsizing of the image forming device using an intermediate transfer belt and more particularly the image forming device using an intermediate transfer medium. SOLUTION: The image forming device of a tandem system successively disposed with image forming units 14 to 17 of cyan(C), yellow(Y), magenta(M) and black (K) in a prescribed direction once transfers the toner images formed by the respective image forming units 14 to 17 to the intermediate transfer belt 22 and transfers these images to a form by retransfer. The intermediate transfer belt 22 described above is disposed with the intermediate transfer belt 11 horizontally along a plane disposed with the image forming units 14 to 17 and is disposed with an intermediate transfer section 11 and a transporting unit 12 for both side printing in a space small in a vertical direction.
