PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at control of increase in the weight of a silent chain by minimizing the wear of a connecting pin, so that sliding-contact surface between a pin hole of a plate and a connecting pin for constructing respectively a silent chain is increased, and also by preventing decrease in the strength of the plate where each width of an outer flank and an inner flank between the pin hole and a teeth does not become small. SOLUTION: A silent chain is formed by linking a plate 1, in which the plate has a pair of teeth and a pair of pin holes and in which each plate is also connected by a connecting pin respectively. The pin hole 2 is formed by a cylindrical portion 2A, in which the edge portion of the pin hole is extruded continuously from one of side surfaces of the plate. The height of the cylindrical portion 2A is set approximately equal to the thickness of the plate.
