PURPOSE: To improve the superimposing accuracy of development without being restricted by the outside diameter of a belt-like photoreceptor or an intermediate transfer body or a medium carrier and the outside diameter of a cylindrical photoreceptor or the intermediate transfer body or a roller to drive the medium carrier. CONSTITUTION: A distance L0 between adjacent exposure units 8 to form a latent image at a belt 1 which is the belt-like photoreceptor and the outside diameter Dp of an encoder pick wheel 2 are decided so as to satisfy an expression 13, and either of the outside diameter Dd of a drive roller 3, an eccentricity (ed) thereof and the eccentricity (ep) of the encoder pick wheel 2 are prevented from being affected, so that the deterioration of color superimposing accuracy due to the feeding speed fluctuation of the belt 1 is suppressed. |
