PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display method of replacement time of fluorescent tube and fluorescent tube lighting apparatus having the display function of the replacement time that is of simple construction, can identify the life time and inform the replacement time. SOLUTION: The device comprises a detection means to detect the electric current value supplied to the fluorescent tube, a comparison means to compare the electric current detected by the detection means with the preset prescribed value and a signal output means to output a prescribed signal when the value of the electric current supplied to the fluorescent tube has been judged to have surpassed the preset prescribed value.
