PURPOSE: A method for calculating the required amount of frequencies in a ground mobile communication service is provided to efficiently use limited frequency resources without overconsumption, by correctly calculating the amount of the frequencies necessary for the ground mobile communication service. CONSTITUTION: The number of users per a cell is calculated(10). The amount of traffic per a user is calculated(12). Based on the number of users and the amount of traffic, the amount of the traffic per a cell is calculated by an Erlang unit(14). A cell group size is determined, considering characteristics of a corresponding service system(8). A service quality function(h) is applied to the amount of the traffic per a cell, and thereby the required number of channels per a cell is calculated(g). A transmission speed per a service channel(i) is multiplied to the required number of channels per a cell, and thereby the total amount of the traffic per a cell is calculated(18). The total amount of the traffic per a cell is divided by system supply capacity(i) in order to calculated the required amount of the frequencies(22).
