PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a method for controlling a permanent- magnet motor by which vibration in the permanent-magnet motor and noise therefrom can be suppressed, and a compressor and a refrigerator-air conditioner mounted with the permanent-magnet motor. SOLUTION: A PWM carrier frequency switching command circuit portion 20 and an energization waveform switching command circuit portion 21 connected with a speed control circuit portion 17 are installed and thereby it is made possible to switch carrier frequency and energization waveform according to the rotational speed of the motor.
