PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette which is formed by joining upper and lower halves by ultrasonic welding, does not require the formation of side walls as welded surfaces by adopting the constitution to assure sufficient welding force, realizes the lower cost, lighter weight and high productivity of the tape cassette by reducing the thickness of the upper and lower halves and does not require the maintenance of delicate critical ultrasonic oscillation conditions in a welding stage. SOLUTION: This tape cassette is subjected to ultrasonic welding by including the abutment parts of tape guide bosses (24) and (25) formed at the halves (1) and (2) on one side and the halves (1) and (2) on the other side in the welded parts and including the abutment parts of reel position regulating ribs (22) and (23) which are toric ribs to regulate the respective positions of a pair of reels (4) formed at the halves (1) and (2) on one side and the halves (1) and (2) on the other side in the welded parts.
