PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter that hardly causes sense of incongruity the case that the optical filter is mounted on a display device of many and diversified types while providing advantages of a hood type to prevent intrusion of dust or the like and that does not interrupt required information displayed around the screen of the display device. SOLUTION: The optical filter 1 is provided with a filter body 2 that covers a screen 6 of a display device 5 and a hood type frame 3 that holds the filter body 2 and also covers not only a front side but also side faces and part of an upper side including the screen 6 and the display device 5 and the frame 3 is made of a transparent or translucent material.
