PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely prevent oil mist from leaking through a gap, existing in an upper part of a bearing cover. SOLUTION: This bearing oil mist preventive device is provided, so as to partition a linkage part between the inside and outside of a bearing cover, which exists with a different pressure in an upper part of the bearing cover of a bearing device, which cools a bearing, supporting a rotary shaft 1 of a vertical type dynamoelectric machine, with lubricant, contained in the bearing cover, and prevents oil mist, generated from a liquid surface in the bearing cover, from flowing out by a motion of a rotary unit. A hair assembly 15, made of resin material, is held between a retention ring 4 and a rear plate 6, so as to have its one tip part exposed on a rotary shaft side with a certain free length, and the other tip part of the hair assembly 15 is fixed and brought into tight contact with a whole circumference of the rotary unit by a fixing metal fitting 23. The retention ring 4 has an oil drain hole 24, through which oil drops, adhering and staying on the hair assembly 15, are drained out into the hearing cover 17. |
