LIGHTING DEVICE OF DISCHARGE LAMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device of a discharge lamp in which power supply in a light rising region is almost the same against different loads of electric power in a stable state to a long service life and afford smoothe light rising performance. SOLUTION: The lighting device 1 of a discharge lamp is installed with a discharge lamp, a DC-DC converter circuit 3 to elevate DC power source voltage 2, an inverter circuit 4 to supply alternating power to the discharge lamp and a control circuit 6 for feedback control of the power supplied to the discharge lamp 5 by detecting the lamp voltage and lamp current of the discharge lamp 5. Applied voltage to the discharge lamp 5 in a light rising region immediately after the power supply is controlled so as to almost the same against different power loads.
