PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile navigation system capable of efficiently travelling in a traffic lane in which entrance to another traffic lane and leaving another lane for the traffic lane are restricted. SOLUTION: Map data including road information on entrance/leaving points in an express highway provided with a car pool lane is read from a DVD 2 and stored in a data buffer 10. Through the use of the map data stored in the data buffer 10A, a route search processing part 32 performs route search processing in consideration of whether the car pool lane can be used or not. In the case route guidance through the use of the car pool lane, a car pool lane guiding part 18 performs predetermined lane change guidance by images, sounds, and voice at the timing that an entrance/leaving point to change a course approaches within a predetermined distance from the location of one's own vehicle. |
