PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator that employs a crystal vibrator enhancing stable performance and is inexpensively manufactured to cover the frequency over a wide range and that is usable for an oscillation source without need for applying frequency adjustment to the crystal vibrator. SOLUTION: The oscillator is provided with a 1st programmable divider that applies frequency division to an oscillation signal from a piezoelectric vibrator by a frequency division number 1/M to obtain a reference signal, a PLL circuit section that obtains a multiple signal multiplying an input signal at a 2nd frequency division number 1/N of a 2nd programmable divider and a 3rd programmable divider that frequency-divides the multiplied signal at a 3rd frequency division number 1/X and provides the output of the result, in which the frequency division numbers 1/M, 1/N and 1/X are selected independently of each other. Since infinite numbers of combinations of the frequency division numbers 1/M, 1/N and 1/X can be utilized, kinds of frequencies generated by the oscillator can considerably the extended by selected proper combinations. |
