PURPOSE: A transmission differential pinion shaft and a method for manufacturing the same are provided which not only greatly improves abrasion resistance and bending resistance but also reduces processing steps and manufacturing costs compared with an existing method by manufacturing the differential pinion shaft through high carbon carburizing process using as a steel alloy having 0.2 wt.% or more of carbon. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a transmission differential pinion shaft comprises a first step of turning using a steel alloy having 0.2 wt.% or more of carbon; a second step of machining; a third step of high carbon carburizing at a temperature of 700 to 850 deg.C for 0.2 to 1 hour and at a temperature of 800 to 950 deg.C for 3 to 9 hours as constantly maintaining CP; a fourth step of tempering; and a fifth step of grinding, wherein a CP during the high carbon carburization in the third step is 1.1 to 1.2, and the tempering in the fourth step is treated at a temperature of 100 to 250 deg.C for 0.5 to 4 hours.
