PURPOSE: A method for processing a data link error is provided to automatically repair a data link even when a data link set is failed after a protection switch operation caused by the data link error. CONSTITUTION: It is checked whether the protection switch operation happens by the data link error(200). If the protection switch operation happens, the data link is set to a protection-switched data link(204). It is determined whether the set of the data link has been failed(206). If the set of the data link has been failed, the data link is set to an initially provisioned data link(208). It is determined whether the set of the data link to the initially provisioned data link has been failed(210). If the set of the data link to the initially provisioned data link has been failed, a system start procedure is executed(212). If the set of the data link to the initially provisioned data link has not been failed, a communication service is provided via the set data link(214).
