PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid crackings in a permanent magnet, which is caused by the press-fit or shrinkage fit of a crank shaft, to provide a permanent magnet rotor having excellent reliability and to provide a small size, low cost, low noise and low vibration enclosed compressor. SOLUTION: This permanent magnet rotor of a motor comprises a layer-built iron plate core 9, which has a through hole 15 at a center thereof, and a crank shaft, which is fitted to the through hole 15 by pressure or shrinkage. A plurality of relief holes 20, with circular arc cross-sections, are formed in the neighborhood of the through hole 15 so as to surround the through hole 15.
