METHOD AND DEVICE FOR INSERTING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INTO LINEAR GRAPHIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily read additional information out of the digital data of a map. SOLUTION: A data reading part 1 reads each object information inside the map out of map data, reads the coordinates of the apexes of each vector data out of the read object information, holds the coordinates as vector information which is the set of designations and terminals of vectors, and selects only a vector which can be divided with a maximum dividing number out of the vector information as selected vector information. An insert code generating part 2 reads the additional information, binarizes it and generates an insert code. A thinning executing part 3 determines a vector to become an insertion object out of the selected vector information by using the insert code, divides the vector with the insert code and inserts the additional information. A data updating part 4 stores data in which the additional information is inserted at the original place.
