PURPOSE: An AC plasma display panel with a main discharge region and an auxiliary discharge region and a method for driving the same are provided to improve a contrast by dividing a discharge region into main discharge region and an auxiliary discharge region. CONSTITUTION: The first electrode(31) is formed on a front panel(30). The first electrode(31) has the first region(31A) for data writing and the second region(31B). The second electrode(32) is formed on the front panel(30) in order to form an auxiliary discharge region. The third electrode(33) is formed on the front panel(30) between the first and the second electrodes(31,32). The first dielectric layer covers the first, the second, and the third electrodes(31,32,33). A data electrode(41) is formed on a rear panel. The second dielectric layer covers the rear panel including the data electrode(41). |
