A weighting device (20) for attachment to a shaft (14) of a golf club (10). The weighting device (20) includes a body having a plurality of spaced-apart helical turns (22a) and a through opening extending between the proximal and distal ends of the body (21). The weighting device (20) is attached to the shaft (14) of a club (10) by inserting the shaft (14) within a channel located between the helical turns (22a) and rotating the body of the weighting device until the shaft of the golf club (10) is positioned within the through opening.
