<p>Dyestuffs are provided, which exhibit excellent color definition, light resistance, indoor discoloration resistance, solubility, storage stability, and so on when used as water-soluble dyestuffs for ink jet recording. Specifically, metal chelate dyestuffs for ink jet recording, which are water-soluble azo metal chelate compounds prepared from azo compounds of general formula (1) and metal elements the general formula (1) represents azo compounds each having at least one hydrophilic group in the molecule, and in general formula (1), X1 represents a plurality of atoms necessary for forming at least one 5- to 7-membered heterocycle exclusive of pyridine ring; the heterocycle containing X1 may have one or more substituents on the cycle, and the substituents on the cycle may be further fused to form a fused ring which may be substituted; and Ar1 is naphthyl having a chelating group].</p> |
