The shock absorbing strut has an adjuster (15) fitted between the spring plate (9) and its mounting (17). This has a seating (11) into which the end of the spiral spring (5) fits and it can be rotated around the axis of the spring or tilted with respect to it. This allows the lateral force exerted by the spring on the shock absorber (1) to be minimised.
