METHOD FOR SETTING MULTICAST LABEL EXCHANGE PATH USING MULTICAST LABEL IN MULTI-PROTOCOL LABEL SWITCHING NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method for setting a multicast label exchange path using a multicast label in an MPLS(Multi-Protocol Label Switching) network, is provided to form multicast label information in order to support a multicast for communication between several users in the MPLS network, and thereby set the path. CONSTITUTION: Label edge router(LER_d, LER_e) sends a join message(Join(MTid, Label, ERP)), which includes a multicast group ID(MTid) and an evident reverse path(ERP), to label switching routers(LSR_b, LSR_c), respectively. The router(LSR_c) sends the join message(Join(MTid, Label, ERP)) to the routers(LSR_b). The routers(LSR_b) receives the join message(Join(MTid, Label, ERP)) from each of the routers(LSR_c, LER_d), and then sends the join message(Join(MTid, Label, ERP)) to a label switching router(LSR_a). The router(LSR_a) receives tree root information "abced" from a root of a multicast group, removes information "a" representing itself, and then sends information "bced" to the router(LSR_b). The router(LER_e) receives the tree root information "e", and thereby recognizes that the router(LER_e) itself is an incoming node. The multicast label exchange path is thus set from the router(LSR_a) to the router(LER_e).
