XOR CODE AND SERIAL CONNECTION ENCODER AND DECODER USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A serial connection encoder/decoder is provided to perform a modulo-2 operation according to a combination order determined by a user. CONSTITUTION: A serial connection encoder consists of an XOR encoder(200) and a convolutional encoder(202). The XOR encoder(200) combines n-bit information data according to a rule and performs a modulo-2 operation with regard to the combination result to output k-bit data. The convolutional encoder(202) encodes an output of the XOR encoder(200) according to a convolutional formula selected by a user. A serial connection decoder consists of a convolutional decoder(210) and an XOR decoder(212). The convolutional decoder(210) codes data of an order corresponding to an input information bit of a transmitter side among data received according to a maximum-likelihood decoding algorithm and compares the coded data with received data to find an optimally matched value. The XOR decoder(212) corrects an error of data received from a parity-check matrix.
