PURPOSE: A suction system of a hermetic rotary compressor is provided to run a compressor in silence by reducing low frequency band noise due to pressure pulsation and RF(Radio Frequency) noise caused by vibration of a compression mechanism transferred to an accumulator through a refrigerant suction pipe. CONSTITUTION: Refrigerant gas is sucked through a refrigerant suction pipe(4) and supplied to a pocket(P) of a cylinder through a refrigerant box(3) and a suction hole(7) of a sub-bearing(2) sequentially. Herein, the refrigerant suction pipe is mounted on a side of the refrigerant box for storing refrigerant. The refrigerant gas is discharged out of the cylinder and flowed to the upper portion in a hermetic shell(1) through a clearance between a stator(10) and a rotor(11). Finally, the refrigerant gas is discharged out of the hermetic shell through a discharge pipe(12). A flow preventing pipe(5) is bent downward at the end of the refrigerant suction pipe communicated with the refrigerant box. The flow preventing pipe prevents liquid refrigerant from flowing into the refrigerant box rapidly and adjusts the flow direction of refrigerant effectively. The refrigerant gas is sucked smoothly by an inclined portion on a side of the suction hole. In addition, loss by flow resistance is reduced.
