PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for restoring multi CPU trouble of a switching system are provided to consecutively maintain data communication by initializing only trouble-generated communication path in serial communication, thereby improving the reliability of data communication and the efficiency of a system operation. CONSTITUTION: A master block control part(11) requests the restoration of trouble if any trouble is detected in a communication path between a master block(10) and a slave block(20). An interrupt detection part(25) detects a trouble restoration interrupt signal of the master block control part(11). A slave control part(23) initializes the trouble-generated communication path according to the request of performing interrupt routine of the interrupt detection part(25).
