PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for providing a remote supervisory service by using Always On/Dynamic ISDN(AO/DI) is provided to reduce the cost of installation of the remote supervisory service, and to allow the property of a subscriber to be easily protected at an inexpensive cost. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for providing the remote supervisory service comprises a supervisory system(100) installed in a building of a subscriber, a remote supervisory server(130) for generating an alarm sound by receiving still images and moving images from the supervisory system, an ISDN exchanger(110) installed between the supervisory system and the remote supervisory server for sending the still images or the moving images to the supervisory server, and a packet exchanger(120) installed between the ISDN exchanger and the remote supervisory server for sending the still images to the supervisory server.
