PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymeric fuel cell system achieving greatly less power consumption than using commercial power and offering global environment protection and reduced fuel cost for fuel cell operation, and an automatic vending machine. SOLUTION: The system comprises a solid polymeric electrolyte membrane held between a pair of gas diffusion electrodes consisting of a fuel pole and an oxidant pole via a catalyst layer and a fuel cell body for generating electricity with the electrochemical reaction of a fuel gas as a reactive gas with an oxidant gas to produce electric output. An exhaust heat utilization part 26 for supplying heat from the fuel cell to equipment requiring heat is provided in a water cooling passage in which water is circulated for cooing heat from the fuel cell.
